A fabric that provides excellent privacy may reduce the view more than a homeowner wants. A more open solar fabric may help with glare while offering limited insect control. Large openings, exposure, wind, and the surrounding structure also affect which system is appropriate.
During the design consultation, StruXure Georgia identifies the main comfort problem, reviews the opening and structure, and discusses the tradeoffs between airflow, visibility, privacy, shade, and protection. Some outdoor rooms benefit from different fabrics on different sides because each exposure serves a different purpose.
Motorized screens are movable systems. They require appropriate operation, periodic care, and retraction under conditions specified by the manufacturer. The goal is not to promise a sealed room; it is to create a more adaptable outdoor space.
